My Favorite Types Of Weather

dailyprompt-1886

What is your favorite type of weather?

If there is no rain, trees will not survive! Without water, trees will die, and there will be no greenery anywhere. The beauty of nature will be destroyed. Humans also need trees immensely because human life depends on them. It is because of trees that humans get fruits, flowers, and vegetables. Human life is sustained by consuming these. Without trees, humans would starve, and they would have to struggle greatly for food and water, leading to immense suffering. Therefore, the rainy season is extremely necessary. Similarly, rainfall is essential to provide protection from heat, to offer relief, and to bring a cooling effect.

The country where I live experiences extreme heat, with temperatures reaching up to 50°C. Without rain, it feels unbearably hot, and there is no relief from the heat. However, despite this, I personally do not like the rainy season here at all. I sometimes feel that it should not rain in this country at all. The reason is that there are large and small drains everywhere—so many that they cannot even be counted! The large drains are by the roadside, while the small ones are right in front of the houses. These small drains or sewers carry waste water from toilets, bathrooms, and kitchens, while the large drains carry waste from big factories. During the rainy season, these drains overflow with rainwater, and all this filthy water floods the streets and enters people’s homes, making the environment extremely dirty and disgusting.   These drains are filled with all kinds of garbage from the streets and homes—waste plastic bottles, vegetable scraps, swept garbage, and even dog and cat feces. The street beggars also throw their leftover food, discarded clothes, cigarette butts, and other waste into these drains. Reading or even hearing about this filth is disgusting! This filth is the reason why drains overflow during the rainy season, and when this dirty water floods the streets, stepping into it feels extremely revolting. This is why I despise the rainy season here and wish it would never rain so that I wouldn’t have to witness such filth.During the rainy season, my house is also invaded by snakes, small and large frogs, leeches, and various types of worms because I live in a forested area. This makes me dislike the rainy season even more. When winter arrives, I feel quite relieved. However, I cannot tolerate the cold at all. I shiver in the cold and do not even have the courage to put my hands in water or do any water-related chores. During winter, I barely touch water and limit such tasks as much as possible. I also hesitate to go out during this season. Still, I would say that I love the winter season because, during these days, germs, insects, ants, leeches, snakes, cockroaches and other creatures do not roam around as much.

In this country, the number of germs and insects is very high. During summer, lizards crawl all over the walls inside the house, and I am terrified of them. They lay their eggs in electric boards or hide there. In every room, at least four or five lizards are seen moving around the walls. They often hide behind photo frames. Even if I keep the doors and windows closed or cover them with nets, they still manage to get inside. I spray Hit spray to drive them away, but the spray causes me severe discomfort. The fumes from the spray enter my nose and mouth, causing redness in my eyes and giving me a terrible headache that lasts for four to five days. My head feels so heavy that I cannot function properly and end up lying down, unable to even look at the prompts on WordPress or write anything. I lose track of what’s happening around me. I also dislike going to clinics or hospitals, so I avoid going there despite the pain. But despite all this, the lizards do not leave the house and continue to torment me!

To prevent lizards from entering the house, I also place naphthalene balls near the windows and doors, but that too is ineffective. I detest lizards entering my house. I try everything to get rid of them but always fail because they crawl anywhere on the walls, and their presence is disgusting. They can contaminate our food by defecating or touching it, which is dangerous because they are poisonous.

When winter ends and summer begins, the intense heat becomes unbearable. During summer, I cannot survive without a cooler or AC. These days, my head constantly aches. I have no alternative but to endure the pain, which persists daily. As the sun rises, my headache begins, and it only subsides after sunset.

Despite all this, daily chores and responsibilities cannot be ignored. They must be fulfilled, regardless of the circumstances.

During summer, lizards also roam around even more. The heat becomes unbearable, and I constantly feel thirsty, needing to drink water repeatedly to feel any relief. These are the struggles of summer

Even so, I somewhat like summer and somewhat dislike it.

Now, the monsoon, summer, and winter form the natural cycle. Since we are humans, we cannot change this cycle. We have to accept and experience nature’s offerings as they come.

Because it is nature that gives this earth its existence, which is a great blessing for humankind.

So, this is my response to today’s prompt! Thank you so much for the support I have received. It inspires me to write. Take care and stay safe.
