Which aspects do you think makes a person unique?
When we are born on this Earth, that is, when we are born from our mother’s womb, it is then that some of our qualities become apparent to our parents and close relatives, who start to understand what qualities we possess. They begin to notice how we are different from or similar to other children. There is a Marathi saying, “Baalache paay paalanyat disatat” (A child’s qualities are visible in the cradle). Similarly, the qualities within us start to show during childhood to our parents and others, such as our grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. They see which qualities are good and which are bad.
Sometimes, parents themselves can be rude and mistreat their relatives and neighbors. On the other hand, some parents are wise, and they teach their children to respect elders, listen to others, follow their advice, and not harm others. However, bad parents teach their children negative qualities because they behave poorly with relatives and neighbors, and they teach their children to do the same. As a result, these children grow up to mistreat others, not listening to their advice and causing harm.
Most often, it is the men who constantly follow their wives and behave rudely, and I have experienced this myself.
In this way, every person’s qualities are different from another. Some are good, and some are rude. Not everyone is good, and not everyone is bad, and no one’s qualities are the same. Each person is shaped by the circumstances of their home, and their qualities develop accordingly.
If a person is a scientist, their children will inherit some of those qualities, even if just a little. The only difference is that some children may inherit more, while others less.
In this way, each person is defined by qualities that set them apart from others. Some can do art, others become writers, some become doctors, and some engineers! Sometimes, people become doctors or engineers due to pressure from their parents, while others choose this path based on their own education and desires. If not, everyone would become doctors or engineers.
Some even cheat to become doctors or engineers. This should not happen, but it does. It feels like itโs a rule of the world. Therefore, it is likely that these qualities are taught to them by their parents during childhood, which is why they behave this way.
Our parents did not teach us this. They always taught us to treat others well. They taught us to listen to others and obey their instructions. They taught us to treat guests with hospitality, honor them, and follow the principle “Atithi Devo Bhava” (The guest is God). That is why we have never mistreated anyone.
We have always treated others with respect. Our parents always discouraged us from cheating in studies. They always taught us that we should never advance by cheating. We should always move forward with hard work and honesty. As a result, we may have failed in our studies, but we never advanced by cheating.
When I was a child, I didnโt even understand what cheating was, what it meant, how people did it, and how it could be done. Later, as I grew up, I understood what cheating is because our parents always forbade us from cheating in life.
Whatever I am today, I am because of my own efforts. No cheating! Just hard work and dedication! It is with this that I have succeeded. I have achieved my own position with my own strength!
Therefore, I consider myself different from others. I possess qualities that set me apart from others. I have the courage to achieve the toughest goals by walking the path of truth.
The path you have chosen, Walk on that path, traveler, Donโt stop anywhere, even if you face defeat, You will find the shade of success after walking on the thorns!
